According to the U.S. Consumber Product Safety Commission, the Bluestem Ranger Rider Ride-On Toy Cars are being recalled.
These toy jeeps have a battery that can overheat, smoke, melt and catch on fire - posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. Bluestem has received 9 reports of incidents where batteries smoked or caught on fire. They were sold nationwide from September 2010- May 2012 for between $200-$230.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ride-on toy cars, remove the battery, and contact Bluestem for a full refund of the purchase price plus reimbursement for shipping and handling.
