The Wichita City Council has approved a $600 million downtown revitalization project.
The plan includes a 20-year blueprint for the revitalization of downtown Wichita. It includes 1,500-1,600 new housing units, office space and 350-475 hotel rooms. An estimated $100 million in parking, streets and parks are also recommended to be made in conjunction with the project.
The plan allows or $100 million in public dollars, but council members say that doesn't mean it will approve that much money.
