Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer took a big lead early on in his re-election bid, beating Darrell Leffew with 70% of the vote.
With 25% of the precincts reporting shortly after polls closed Tuesday, Brewer already had a commanding lead over Leffew.
The heavily favored incumbent, celebrated his victory with family, friends and supporters at the Hotel at Old Town. He said he is excited to work with the new city council.
