The German-based company Viega held a grand opening for a new manufacturing plant in McPherson Tuesday morning.
Owners and leaders of Viega officially cut the ribbon for the company's new 439,000 square foot complex. Viega employs just over 200 people in McPherson. The company manufactures plumbing, heating and commercial piping products.
Viega bought the old Vangard Company in 2005 in McPherson and began production.
Viega expects 26 new jobs to be created because of the expansion in the first year and a total of 640 jobs over the next 10 years.
