Police have arrested a 49 year old man in connection with an overnight stabbing that left a man in critical condition.
Shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, officers found the victim with a stab wound to his abdomen outside of The Sidepocket in the 1300 Blk. of S. Broadway. Police reports identify the victim as 33-year-old Eric Herl. A hospital spokesperson was unable to provide an update on Herl's condition.
Police arrested Eldorado Douglas, 49, a short time later on allegations of aggravated battery.
Witnesses told police that the suspect started making a scene inside the bar, and the victim decided to help employees get the suspect out, according to Wichita Police Sgt. Brian Newman.
Once the group was outside, Newman said a fight broke out between the victim and the suspect. Moments later, the victim went back inside to say he had been stabbed.
