A head-on collision leaves a 22-year-old Wichita man recovering in the hospital.
A car and minivan collided shortly after 11:30 p.m. in the 400 Blk. of Ridge Road.
Wichita Police Sgt. Jim Merrick said the man was driving south in the northbound lanes of Ridge Road at the same time a 19-year-old woman was driving north in the northbound lanes of the same street.
Both drivers swerved to avoid the crash, but ended up veering into the same direction and collided.
The man suffered facial injuries and lacerations. He was taken to the hospital in serous condition. He is expected to survive. The woman was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Merrick said alcohol could be a factor in the crash.
