A Wichita man who battled Lyme Disease is now helping others suffering from the illness.

Robert Reichenberger started a support group for people with Lyme Disease. The group met for the first time Tuesday night.

Lyme Disease is an inflammatory disease spread through tick bites. Symptoms are similar to the flu, and include fatigue and a fever.

Reichenberger nearly died because he couldn't get an accurate diagnosis. He says many doctors thought his symptoms were psychological. Reichenberger says that's something he's found he has in common with many other patients diagnosed with Lyme Disease.

Reichenberger is hoping the support group will help patients battling the illness learn how to help themselves heal, and give them hope that they will get better.

To get in contact with the support group, you can e-mail Reichenberger at bpreich@att.net
