"I think it's horrific and it's immoral to be running up debt like this," said Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach.

Kobach spoke at the Tea Party Rally and was outraged by the growing national debt.

"You've got some on the left in Congress who are saying, 'We want to keep on giving away this money,' which we don't have. I think it's outrageous that the Senate is pushing back against the House Republicans the way they are," said Kobach.

The nearly 14.3 trillion dollars in debt still brought lots of attention to Kansans who commended the actions of Congress this past week.

"I think the major influence is going to be because they realize they were elected and influenced by the Tea Partiers, so we have a stronger play in it than most people give us credit for," said Howard Hutchison, participant from Wichita.

"A lot of these folks are senior citizens. They won't be here. They won't be here to worry about it but they're here worrying about for their children and their grandchildren," said Connie Schmitt, Hutchinson Patriot Freedom Alliance organizer.

With twice as many vendors as last year, the event brought attendees from around the state concerned about the direction of the country.

"For as long as it's been going in the wrong direction, I think that we equally need to balance that with going in the right direction, so we may be looking at something for the next 10, 20, 30 years," said Hutchison.

"We're not Republicans or Democrats. We're Americans who believe in conservatism. We believe in the Constitution," said Duhhaine Waeker, participant from Newton.

Organizers say next year's event will have even more spirited attendees with the presidential election year underway.
