The Wichita Riverfest is looking for an artist to design the poster artwork for its 40th anniversary event.

Wichita Festivals hosted a reception for local artists Thursday evening to reveal details about the contest.

The theme for the 2011 event is "Rediscover Riverfest".

Wichita Festivals President and CEO Janet Wright says, "Since next year is the 40th anniversary of the Riverfest we thought it was important we reconnect with the community for this particular activity, look at what art we might get if we went to people and say, 'what's your idea of what the River Festival is all about?'"

The prize for the winning entry is $3,500.
