Wichita Police arrested five people while executing a drug-related search warrant Wednesday around 8:15 p.m.

Police served a search warrant at an apartment complex in the 600 block of North Topeka after a neighborhood drug complaint. SWAT was activated due to factors deemed "high risk" by police.

"We will use SWAT team because of their training and their ability. In this situation, the general consensus among supervision was that this would be a warrant that SWAT needed to actually serve," said Lt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police.

Officers found 15 people inside, along with illegal weapons and drugs. Five people, ranging in age from 18 to 45, were arrested initially on possession of narcotics within 1,000 feet of a school, and could face additional charges.

Four additional people were arrested for outstanding warrants.

Wichita Police said this is still an ongoing investigation.
