The Kansas House will try to resume debate on a bill that cuts $247 million in state spending for the second time.

Republican leaders tried to resume debate yesterday, but they said they didn't have enough support among GOP members to pass the measure.

Neither bill is large enough to close the projected $238 million deficit in the budget already approved for the fiscal year beginning July 1.
