The pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle earlier this week has died from her injuries.
Roberta Burge, 83, was pronounced dead shortly before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night, according to a comment posted at kake.com. A patient supervisor at Via Christi St. Francis confirmed Burge's death overnight.
Burge was hospitalized after an accident at about 8 a.m. Tuesday in northwest Wichita at the intersection of 21st St. N. and Burns.
She was crossing the street on an unmarked crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old woman.
Reports indicate the vehicle was traveling southbound on Burns when she stopped at the stop sign. After checking for traffic, the driver began to proceed onto 21st street, which resulted in striking Burns.
At this time no charges have been presented to the District Attorney's office in this case.
