A man is in police custody after he was arrested in the aftermath of a standoff with Haysville and Wichita Police.
The incident started at about 10:30 p.m. last night in the 600 Blk. of W. Anita in Haysville.
Police radio traffic suggested a domestic argument prompted the man to become upset. He reportedly said "someone will die tonight," if officers came into his house.
One gunshot was heard by police officers shortly after they arrived, but no one was reported hurt.
Officers kept in contact with the man through phone calls throughout the night, but apparently kept hanging up on authorities. Eventually, the Wichita SWAT Team was called in to assist. The suspect was arrested early this morning.
The man was apparently suicidal, reportedly wanting officers to shoot him during the ordeal.
A Haysville Police supervisor was not available for comment in the case.
