Thousands Of Riders Participate In Wichita Toy Run

Sunday, November 6, 2011

The 32nd Annual Wichita Toy Run parade begins at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium at 1:00 p.m.

The procession will be escorted by law enforcement officials as it travels from Lawrence-Dumont Stadium east via Sycamore, Lewis, and Waterman Streets to Broadway Street, north on Broadway Street to 85th Street North, and east on 85th Street North to the Kansas Pavilions.

Each rider is asked to bring at least one new, unwrapped toy or a cash donation. Proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army and Marine Corps Toys for Tots Christmas programs, as well as the Kansas Food Bank.

A souvenir button donation will increase for the first time in 26 years to $2.00.

The Toy Run has grown from 30 motorcycles in 1980 to over 3,000 riders.
