Many of the arrivals from Atlanta at Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport were filled with Shocker fans. A lot of those fans got off the plane just as proud of their team as they were when they first left for the Final Four.
"We were so proud of them because they really played together and did a great job,” Shockers fan Janet Cervantes said.
"Even with the way it ended last night, it's still the proudest moment I've had being a Shocker,” Shockers fan Sean Scogan said.
For the life-long Shocker fans we spoke with, seeing their team in the Final Four was a once in a lifetime opportunity they couldn't pass up.
"It's one of those things that you question whether you're sane going to a basketball game but that's where they get you. They're in my heart and you got to support the Shocks,” Shockers fan Ron Trimmell said.
Although all of the fans we spoke with said WSU in the Final Four is only a once in a lifetime event, so far.
In answer to the question that's become a kind of mantra for the Shockers, 'Are you satisfied?' WSU fans say they are, but only for now.
"We want to go back, we want to do it again,” Cervantes said.
"Couldn't be happier. Ready for next season, proud of the Shockers,” Scogan said.
