With Christmas just around the corner, the Wichita Mid-Continent Airport was full of happy reunions.
No one stood out though quite like John Sullivan, wearing Christmas lights and holding balloons.
"My wife loves the holiday. The girls, we have five daughters, they all love the holidays because of what we do. We get a little crazy,” John Sullivan said.
Sullivan was there to pick up his daughter. She teaches in North Carolina. He told us he hoped she'd get a kick out his Christmas ensemble.
Just down the hall, we spotted Nicholas Denton holding his son Knox for the first time in weeks.
"It's just good to see him,” Denton said.
Airport reunions are all too familiar for the Denton family. Nicholas' work keeps him away from home for weeks at a time including last Christmas.
“Last year we had to go to Iowa and spend it in a hotel room,” Meagan Denton said.
Knox was just a month old then. So this year the Denton family will celebrate their first Christmas together at home.
Denton will have to head back to Salt Lake City in just a few days and Sullivan's daughter has to be back in North Caroline before school starts. But for now, all these families are focused on is spending Christmas together.
"I'm most looking forward to just time, just sit back, talk and get caught up,” Jessica Sullivan said.
"Just spend time with each other and have lots of fun,” Nicholas Denton said.
