Wichita and Sedgwick County made it through the tornado outbreak with no fatalities. An event today is designed to protect people from storms in the future.

Members of the KAKEland WeatherPlex team will take part in a Severe Weather Safety Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Purchase a weather radio at one of two locations and representatives from Midland Radio will program it for you.

Members of the KAKEland WeatherPlex Team will be at each location as well.

The locations are the Dillons at 9450 E. Harry. Jay Prater and Hallie Shulman will be at that store.

Jared Cerullo, Blake Smith and Tanner Swift are scheduled to be at the Walgreens at 5555 S. Broadway.

Both of these stores were impacted by Saturday's tornadoes.

A portion of the money from each radio sold will go to the American Red Cross and Salvation Army for tornado relief.
