Hundreds Attend Service For Beloved Professor

Hundreds of people attended the memorial service for Les Anderson this morning.

School officials say about 1,100 attended in person and there were 383 views of the online web stream.

Former and current students, mentees, colleagues, friends, and family gathered to remember the life of Anderson.

"It was a very emotional experience but I feel amazing right now because there are so many people here who do love him, who were touched by him, and I can't imagine anything less than this," said Shae Blevins, student.

Anderson was a well-known journalist and Wichita State University professor. He suffered a heart attack last Saturday.

Memorials for Anderson have been established at Wichita State University and the Valley Center Library.

Funeral services will be held Saturday for Les Anderson. The well known journalist and Wichita State University professor suffered a heart attack Saturday. He was 62.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5-8 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Valley Center. The church is at the corner of 85th Street North and Meridian.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Hughes Metropolitan Complex Lowe Auditorium, 5015 E. 29TH St. North

Following the service, burial will be in the Valley Center Cemetery, 93rd and Meridian.
