Hundreds of people have stepped up in the last week to help the Thomas family rebuild with donations and some Christmas presents.
"We are blessed, truly, truly, truly, blessed," said Tammy Thomas, mother.
Tammy could not believe the outpour of support her family received in the last ten days.
"I can't even put into words how thankful I am and blessed. Thank you to the Wichita people, the Goddard people, everybody that has stepped up. People that didn't know me," said Tammy.
Strangers and friends have donated everything from basic hygiene products to electronics for her boys.
"I cannot believe how many people have helped us. Me and my mom were talking about when this happens to somebody else, we're going to be right there helping as much as we can," said Holly Thomas, daughter.
Members of the Goddard Lions Club came out on Christmas Eve to fulfill one of Tammy's wishes. She wanted to continue a family tradition of cooking Christmas dinner for her three kids.
"She was very concerned about having a home cooked meal for the kids and that's what we were going to do today. We were going to make sure that she gets a chance to have plenty of food 'cause she wanted to cook for her kids tomorrow," said Dan Funke, member of the Goddard Lions Club.
Although it has been a difficult 2011, the family is hoping to start fresh in 2012.
"I'm so looking forward to it. I just want to close this chapter and move on," said Tammy.

We told you about a house fire in Wichita Wednesday night.
To many of us, it was just another holiday fire statistic, but there is a story behind the footage. Not only a story of Christmas virtually gone, but much more.
The southwest Wichita family of four is the Thomas family; Tammy and her three children who were able to get out just in time. But it is heartbreaking to see the charred house. Because of financial problems, there is no insurance on the home and it's 10 days before Christmas.
"And then this happened and so I don't know what we are going to do," Thomas says. "I just don't know what we're going to do."
With Thomas and her children homeless for Christmas, her co-workers at the Goddard School District are asking for help.
"Right now she has taken so many hits and sometimes if it weren't for bad luck, we wouldn't have any luck at all," says co-worker Tammie Frost.
Although her co-workers say the support from the school district and neighborhood has been wonderful, they would still like to see more for a humble mom and her children who are trying to comfort her.
The "Tammy Thomas Family Benefit Fund" has been set up through the Kansas State Bank at 1424 S. Maize Road, Wichita, 67209.
