Rebecka J. Hall, 32, of Lake Dallas, Texas, was killed and two teenagers were hurt after a chain reaction accident on the Kansas Turnpike late Sunday, Captain Joseph Bott of the Kansas Turnpike said.

The accident happened at 10:25 p.m., two miles south of Mulvane.

An SUV was abandoned by the side of the highway after it ran out of gas. A 15-year-old boy, driving with his 32-year-old mother, struck the SUV. A pickup truck then struck the teenager's car, injuring his mother's leg.

Four teenagers stopped to help the woman. They were in the roadway when a U-Haul truck hit the car, knocking the car into the 32-year-old woman and two of the teens who stopped to help her.

The woman was taken to a Wichita hospital where she was pronounced dead. The teens were hospitalized, one is in fair condition, and the other was treated and released.
