Army Specialist Tom Moffitt was remembered as a 21-year-old man that loved God, his friends and family, and his country.

Moffitt was killed in Afghanistan on Saturday. More than two dozen friends came over to the family's house on Sunday.

"He had friends where ever he was. My grandpa would say that he pretty much thought he knew everybody in Wichita," said George Diepenbrock, Moffitt's cousin.

He enlisted in the army soon after graduating from Northwest High School in 2008. Moffitt served in South Korea and was deployed to Afghanistan this summer.

"He did what most people wouldn't do. That's the big thing - he died a hero," said Nick Johnson, Moffitt's friend.

Moffitt's body will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. A memorial service will be held at the Central Community Church on Saturday.
