Shooting In South Wichita Turns Deadly

A shooting in south Wichita leaves one man dead and another hospitalized with serious injuries.

The shooting happened in the 4100 block of South Broadway just after 5 p.m. Monday afternoon. Police say the two men were shot while conducting business. Both men, in their 30s, were shot numerous times in the upper torso. At least one man was shot while still in the car, Wichita police said.

Streets in the area were closed down for several hours as police searched for answers and emergency crews rushed both men to the hospital. One of the men died a short time after reaching the hospital.

Wichita police are investigating a shooting in South Wichita. Two men were shot, and one has died from his wounds.

Officers were called to 4150 S. Broadway after 5:00 p.m.

Police are looking for a white GMC Envoy SUV which left from the scene and went eastbound on MacArthur.

Witnesses described the suspect as a black man, 6 feet tall, wearing a brown jackets with dollar signs on it. The intersection of Broadway & MacArthur, near the scene of the shooting, was blocked.
