Police: Couple Planning Divorce Before Deadly Shooting

An elderly couple found shot to death in their southwest Wichita home is being investigated as a murder-suicide case.

Police said officers were called to a welfare check in the 4600 block of S. Glenn Sunday night. Authorities found Beverly Nachbor, 62, and Leonard Nachbor, 68, dead of apparent gunshot wounds.

Police said Leonard shot his wife, before turning the gun on himself. Beverly's shooting death is the 18th homicide of 2011.

Investigators said the couple had been married for six years and were in the process of getting a divorce. However, it is unclear what may have led up to the shooting.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Police are investigating the death of two people in southwest Wichita as a murder suicide. A man in his 70s, and his wife, were found in a home in the 4600 block of S. Glenn.

The shooting was reported to Sedgwick County 911 dispatchers at about 9:14 p.m.
