Three weekend fatal crashes increases the number to 28 total deaths for the year.
"All three collisions we've had this weekend this is a case where there's multiple contributing factors on behalf of every driver involved and if you'd remove any of those factors either the accident would've been avoided or the outcome would've been different," said Lt. Joe Schroeder with the Wichita Police Department.
Of the 28 fatal accidents in Wichita this year, 17 involved alcohol and 11 involved motorcycles.
In 2009, there were 21 fatal accidents, 7 involved alcohol and 6 involved motorcycles.
"Stay away from the drugs and alcohol when you get behind the wheel and please slow down and look twice," said Schroeder.
