Two men pulled off a daring daylight heist at a local convenience store. They even went as far as impersonating police officers to do it.

On Wednesday, Oct. 31, two men entered the Stop and Shop at 1827 West 13th Street. A third man waited in the truck he had backed up to the business.

One of the men showed a badge hanging on a chain from his neck. It resembled a Wichita Police Department badge, and he identified himself as a police officer. He told the employee that they were there to seize the arcade games at the rear of the store, because they were illegal.

The employee challenged the suspects on their claim to be police officers. The employee called 911 as the suspects loaded the truck.

The suspects successfully loaded two of the games and drove off. Loss is valued at over $10,000.

The suspect wearing the badge is a white male with brown hair, 5 foot 10 inches and 190 pounds. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

The other suspect is also a white male of average height and build. He was wearing a brown plaid shirt and blue jeans.

The person driving the truck wasn’t seen.
