The spring blizzard is fading away in some parts of the state as the temperatures are rising and the snow is melting. But the snow is leaving behind problems for several residents and businesses.

The ice, sleet and snow that piled up on the roof at KAKE studios came cascading down into the control room, making a mess for the engineers to clean up. This is just one example of the little disasters occurring as a result of the snowfall.

Restoration companies have been busy with calls.

“We’re actually getting a lot of calls. Some of them have been frozen pipes. We’ve actually been getting a lot where the sump pump fails due to all the power outages around town,” said Bambi Langley, Stover’s Restoration.

Several basements around Wichita are flooded from the melting snow. Restoration companies are traveling all over to set up fans and dehumidifiers to clean up the mess.
