WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush is set to take questions from news reporters at a previously unannounced news conference in the final days of his administration.
The president leaves office at midday Jan. 20, when President-elect Barack Obama takes the oath and moves into the Executive Mansion, becoming the 44th president.
The White House has not disclosed what the president will address when he takes the podium in the briefing room.
However, President Bush and President-elect Barack Obama were preparing the ground in Congress to request the second $350 billion in emergency relief funds for America's wobbly financial system.
