Wichita Police Involved In Two Weekend Pusuits

Wichita Police were kept busy over the weekend with two car chases.

The first happened around 3:45 Sunday afternoon. Officers went to the 2500 block of West 31st St. South to check in on a suspect.

They saw the man leave his house and drive off. When the officers tried to stop him at a light, a short pursuit started.

The chase ended when the suspects tire blew out from stop sticks at Boston and Hydraulic. the suspect then tried to run off but officers tased and arrested him.

The second incident happened just after 2 a.m. Monday. Officers were called to check on the welfare of a motorists stopped at the intersection of Central and West. They found him either asleep or passed out. When they woke him up he drove off.

The short chase ended on the 4200 block of West Memory Lane. The 28-year-old man inside was allegedly in possession of meth, marijuana and paraphernalia. Police arrested him.
