Wichita bars and hotels preparing for big crowds to ring in the new year.
Several establishments in Old Town are operating normal hours but increasing their cover charges for special New Year's Eve food and entertainment.
"It's going to be a busy night. We're expecting a big crowd. It won't be too much different than a normal night other than we'll be bringing in a DJ. We expect a lot of high energy and lot of fun," said Daron Adelgren, Pumphouse bar manager.
Local hotels like the Hyatt are offering all-inclusive packages that include accommodations, food, and entertainment.
"By the time you take everything that we've included, you're going to have a safe environment, a wonderful place to sleep for the night, no worries about going anywhere after the party, and you'll be able to ring the new year like no other place in Wichita," said Mike Hubnik, Hyatt Director of Sales.
For those enjoying a little too much cheer, a free cab ride is being sponsored by AAA, Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office, and Best Cabs.
