Drivers on the Kansas Turnpike are sharing the road with goats after an accident.
A trailer hauling goats blew a tire near the South Wichita exit before 10:00 a.m. Dispatchers said the truck was hauling more than 200 goats.
The accident is on the turnpike, near the exit to I-135 North. Lois Faller was in the pickup pulling the trailer. She says she felt the trailer start jerking, then turned around and saw dust.
"That was my main concern that they didn't get out on the road and get hit or cause another accident, but they came down and started eating, like no, just as calm as could be," said Faller laughing.
Six of the goats had to be put down, but amazingly, none of the others were hurt.
Officers spent a couple of hours rounding up the herd and loading them into trailers. They took the animals to another location for feed and water before the owner can get a new trailer here and move them on to Minnesota, the original destination.
The driver was not hurt.
