Wichita Police are searching for the people who stole thousands of dollars worth of property from a local Halloween attraction.
The theft at the "Isle of Screams" at O. J. Watson Park happened sometime between Oct. 26-28. The attraction is open on weekends in October and various Thursdays.
Fences and barricades were torn down, lights broken, and props were unusable. A $7,000 replica machine gun was stolen. The damage left the park inoperable on Thursday.
"We were very frustrated since this is a new venue for us. We've been constantly having one hurdle over another. This is just another hurdle for us on our final week and just wondering why people do this," said Kip Scott, Prairie Pines Festivals Owner.
The haunted island will re-open today and through the Halloween weekend, 7-11:30 p.m. Sunday it will be open from 7-11 p.m.
The owners are offering a $1,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest. If you have any information, contact the owners at 316-303-2037 or email them at screams@prairiepines.com.
