Another car lined up to go to the body shop to be fixed thanks to Mother Nature. Business is good at these types of places. In fact, it's so good it's hard to keep up.

"(We) get a lot of curb hits and a lot of suspension damage," explains Kurt Danielson of Davis-Moore Body Shop. "Typically minor fender bender type stuff."

With 300 accidents reported on just one day in Wichita last week, the winter weather is leaving the auto body repair business backed up for weeks. But at least Mother Nature provides job security for someone.

"You just be patient with everybody," Danielson said. "With customers, insurance companies, the whole nine yards. Just take one at a time and deal with them on an individual basis."

Most of the bent metal at Davis Moore on East Kellogg in Wichita right now is because of the two ice or snow storms within a week of each other. now they're gearing up for even more, with the possibility of another round of light snow this weekend.

Danielson says he's seen about 20 new customers per day this week. After days like Wednesday, where most of Kansas received a light coating of ice... If your car managed to escape an accident without being totaled, it might still need suspension work from running off into a ditch or a paint touch up if you slid into another car.

"January, give or take depending on the weather, isn't a super busy time of year unless you have weather," Danielson said.

Take it from all of the people who did end up in the body shop with dented fenders and banged up cars... When it does hit, take it as easy as you can.
