A local barber is showing his Wichita State University support by creating 'Wu haircuts.'

"It's good to see people come out here and try to support their team," said Pedro Ruiz, a barber at the Twice As Nice Barbershop on 21st and Woodlawn.

Ruiz moved to Wichita three years ago and became a Shocker fan.

"They grew on me," said Ruiz. "I didn't really know much about the city or the schools. Actually, the first year I was here, they went to the NIT."

Three years later, the Shockers are in the Final Four.

Now, he is using his artistic talents to show his Shocker support.

"Not very many people are willing to get a design put on their head, shaving their heads, so if you're willing to actually go through all that, shows how much of a fan you really are," he said.

One of those fans is Miguel Lopez, who was on his way to Atlanta to cheer on the Shockers.

"I wanted to show support in a special kind of way. I take great pride in being a WSU student, so what better way than to get Wu Shock on the back of my head," said Lopez.

These fans are hopeful that the Shockers keep winning and their designs stay on their heads for the rest of the tournament.
