WICHITA, Kan.--- The first-ever Wichita Art Day of Giving (ArtDOG) raised more than $500,000.
The Wichita Community Foundation project was a 24-hour charitable fundraising campaign created to unite the community around local nonprofit arts organizations.
In all, it raised $548,372 for 38 art organizations.
“The generosity of this town was evident during ArtDOG,” said WCF President and CEO Shelly Prichard. "Not only were vital dollars raised for the arts, but more than 50 events took place throughout the day that highlighted the unique talents and places we have right here in Wichita. Giving days have been a proven model across the country for several years now and the Wichita Community Foundation, with the help of the Knight Foundation, was happy to bring this initiative to our city.”
