Construction and production is picking up at the site of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, where hundreds of volunteers are helping build a new home for the Carl Hall family.

On the second day of construction, workers were still enthusiastic even after working overnight.

"It's amazing, it's amazing. I've never seen a job move so fast. We've got all these people out here and things are just rolling," said Bob Cook, the project supervisor and owner of Bob Cook Homes.

Volunteers say adrenaline continues to run high on the site, as the community is excited to help the Halls recover from the crash that left the former Shocker standout paralyzed.

"I'm a big baseball fan. My family's always been in baseball and when we found out it was for him, I thought I'd come out and volunteer, give my time," said volunteer Scott Arnold.

"I actually know Carl really well and so it was one of those personal things that I just felt like I had to do. And it was the least I could do," said overnight supervisor Mike Drumright, of Drumright Builders.

Hall's story even served as motivation for those who don't know him, as they worked to give his family an incredible gift, while gaining a once-in-a-lifetime experience in helping make it happen.

"It's hard to go to sleep, you know stuff is going on and you want to be in the middle of it," said Cook.

"Some of it's organized chaos, some of it's unorganized chaos, but we still get it done," said Drumright.

If you would like to help, the project is in need of donations including extension cords, brooms, shovels, gloves, masks, hammers, and water bottles.
