Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback's administration has launched a new website as the state continues to battle a historic drought.

The online resource is a drought information guide for all Kansans.
The site includes links to state and federal resources for farmers and ranchers, small businesses, Kansans, and cities and counties.

“Dry summers are nothing new to Kansas but this is not just another dry summer," Brownback said. "The drought of 2012 is of historic proportion and demands cooperation among all Kansans to respond, recover and plan for the future."

Brownback said Kansans cannot predict Mother Nature, but rather develop water management plans.

The Governor updated the state’s drought disaster declaration late last month to include all 105 Kansas counties in an emergency status. The Governor’s Drought Response Team will continue to watch the situation closely and work to minimize the effects the drought has on Kansans.
