After a 2008 fire burned down the Emmaus Mennonite Church new Whitewater, a new church is set to open.
Workers are putting the finishing touches on the $6 million dollar church, in anticipation of the first service Sunday.
A fire destroyed the 1929 building outside Whitewater in January of 2008, leaving church members looking for a new home.
Nearly two and a half years later, they have a new home. Through donations, insurance and fundraisers the church raised enough money to build a bigger better church.
The first service at the new church will be held Sunday, May 30 at 10:30.
