A suspect has been arrested in a fire that destroyed a Wichita home.

The fire broke out shortly before 6 a.m. in the 2600 Blk. of S. West St. Fire officials say a neighbor saw smoke coming out of the home when that person called 911.

When fire crews arrived, they found smoke and flames pouring out of the structure. Officials say they were forced to fight the fire from the outside because the roof collapsed.

The fire caused $65,000 in damage.
