A 28-year-old man is hospitalized after being gunned down overnight outside an east Wichita nightclub.

The incident occurred at about 2 a.m. in the 500 Blk. of Central and Rock.

Wichita Police Sgt. Kelly Mar said police officers were originally dispatched to a disturbance call at a nightclub called The Shadow. When officers arrived, they spotted a white Cadillac speeding off.

Mar said police officers stopped the vehicle near Kellogg and Rock, finding 4 asian men including the victim inside. 911 dispatchers said the victim suffered a gunshot wound to his neck. He was taken to Wesley Medical Center in serious condition.

Witnesses say the victim's car was pulling out of a parking lot when an unidentified vehicle pulled up beside it and someone opened fire.

Police say the shooting stemmed from a fight inside Shadow nightclub between two groups of asian males. They believe the fight over a girl that was inside the bar. Both parties were asked to leave but they left several minutes apart from each other.
