Many parents might find it difficult to keep up with their daughters’ activities online. Social networking sites can be difficult for a busy parent to keep up with or understand and many can be a danger for young girls.
A new website launched this week could help parents fully understand internet safety.
The new site, www.lmk.girlscouts.org is a fun, informative site for girls. It’s also a one-stop-shop for parents who want to learn more about their daughters’ online experience.
Girl Scouts of Kansas is one of 10 Girl Scout groups across the country selected for the LMK, or Let Me Know, campaign. It’s a partnership between Girl Scouts USA and Microsoft.
The site covers everything from social networking and online predators to cyber bullying. A different internet safety topic is discussed every month and the feedback is then sent to parents via an e-newsletter.
