Mid-continent airport shows off some changes aimed at taking the hustle and bustle out of your holiday travel.
When it's time to head up to the security line travelers will now have the choice to go one of two ways. The expert traveler route, for those who know exactly what to do while checking through, don't have much with them and can do it fast. Or the family route.
"This is a lane for families traveling with small children. They tend to carry a lot more stuff with them and it will be a little less stressful for them," said TSA Federal Security Director Keith Osborn.
The family-friendly line is also for people who are carrying containers with more than 3 ounces of medically exempt liquids that need extra screening.
It's all to speed up the wait times this holiday season. Thanksgiving is the busiest travel time of the year here at the airport.
"So we'd like to offer this travel advice to make your traveling experience at Mid-Continent a breeze," said Valerie Wise with the airport.
Wise says Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday will be the most crowded days especially between five and seven a.m. Airlines recommend getting to the airport at least an hour and a half before your flight.
