With polls showing him ahead in Florida on the eve of the state's primary, Mitt Romney is telling reporters, "You can sense that it's coming our way."
The former Massachusetts governor is already looking past
Florida, making plans to stop in Minnesota on his way to Nevada on
Wednesday.
Romney today is ridiculing rival Newt Gingrich's plan to build a
moon colony. He says "the idea of the moon as the 51st state" is
not one that has come to mind.
Gingrich and his supporters are vowing that the campaign is far
from over, no matter the outcome tomorrow in Florida. Rick Tyler,
who heads a pro-Gingrich political action committee, is calling on
Rick Santorum to drop out of the race, to clear the way for a
contest between Romney and Gingrich.
Gingrich today is defending his ties to Ronald Reagan, after
Romney supporters raised questions about how well Reagan and
Gingrich got along. Gingrich told supporters, "Mitt Romney may not
know about the Reagan years because he was not there."
A new poll taken among likely Florida Republican voters shows
Romney heading into tomorrow's primary with a 14-point lead over
Gingrich.
