WOW I still tear up seeing the reveal. My life and the lives of my family have been forever changed and in such a good way! I can't begin to express my gratitude to everyone who has helped. I will never forget how people (some who knew us and some who didn't) opened their hearts to us after hearing our story. You all have changed my life in so many ways not only by relieving stress and worries and giving me a beautiful new home but because you gave me hope for mankind and have changed the way I think and you have made me want to pay it forward in any way I can. To ALL the Volunteers....THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU SOO MUCH! I LOVE YOU ALL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR MY FAMILY so from someone who built to someone who carried furniture or cheered for us...THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart Thank You

Wonderful!! Way to go Chapman, all the builders hats off to you! Way to honor an American Hero! Way to go Makeover staff, crew and actors! Paul is the best, tender hearted celebrity. Thanks to RachelKielborn, John Piccioni! It was fun meeting and working with you all. Most gracious crew. God Bless! Thanks for all the autographs and the blessing you provided for our Chapman American Hero and our town!

They did not work on around 50 homes. The work they did was great but I think they needed to help families that were more in need than the Irvines. The Porters are elderly and needed some repairs... A family I lived near on 6th street didn't have any insurance and totally lost everything. They should have talked to the community more first.

As far as the cast and crew being rude...I volunteered every single day and was totally impressed with both of them. Even with a big task to accomplish, they were nothing but very kind a patient with all of the starstruck people that were constantly approaching them for pictures. They took time to visit with you and even pose for pictures. Volunteers were required to wear the Extreme Makover t-shirts so that they could be identified as those that were there to work and not just observe. It was an awesome experience and I am very glad that I was a part of it. It was a boost for the whole community! Congratulations to the Tutweilers and all the others that were helped.

I have watched this show in the past and been somewhat dismayed at the extravagance of the homes built. I always wondered why they couldn't build 5 "average" homes, instead of 1 over the top home and help more families. When they visited Chapman, however, there were so many volunteers that they farmed them out to help other families in town with painting, repairs, clean-up, etc. Overall, around 50 homes were touched in some way during the week. This is something you don't hear about on the show. People in small communities really do pull together in times of need, but are seldom recognized for it. Many thanks to all the volunteers, and to the whole Extreme Makover crew. I hope they will be able to continue helping families all over the US for many years to come.

They were not alowd to wear those kinds of items because of the advertisement issue. And as far as the crew being rude....and taking credit themselves.....Do you ever even watch the show?.....my guess is probably not.....He repeatedly thanks all the volunteers and the contractors......and was not rude to us at all.....so before you go on here and say,,"Well i head from sam who heard from sara who heard from her 3rd cousin who heard at a coffee shop that those people were rude"....get your facts straight before you go slandering people....congrats Tutweiler family i really hope this changes you life.....and for everybody out there who were disgusted because this was done for them......GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I attended the Extreme Home Makeover's concert given by Gavin Rossdale in Chapman, KS. It was wonderful! Cold, but wonderful. Mr. Rossdale is not only a great musician, but he's also a gentleman. He stayed late and met with fans, posed for pictures, and signed autographs for quite some time. His bright smile was more than enough to warm the cold, blustery Kansas night. Anyone in that audience could tell his heart was poured into the songs he performed, and it especially flowed in the Tutwiler family's direction. It was a good call on ABC's part to include him in the final moments of "The Extreme Home Makeover" Chapman edition's reveal day. Not to sound like a commercial...but I'm definitely going to buy his new cd "Wanderlust" because it seems the live "preview" was just the beginning of a much needed musical journey. (I'll be sending pics of the concert your way.)

I've heard from people that helped with the previous house, the cast of the show are extremely rude. They take the credit for everything and don't do crap! Seem like a surprise? Eh not really. Also they are very strict on what they can wear and what they can't. Volunteers are not aloud to wear t-shirts with their company's logo on them. How nice. Also the firefighters and police officers that helped out were told NOT to wear department t-shirts. Why not? Sounds like a rip off. But i do give them credit for their efforts to boost the family's current struggle. That is a good thing. So thank you volunteers!

This makes me a little upset them moving the time up. My kids were looking forward to going and now they can't because of school. I have been at the site this week and I wanted to show them how it looked. I wish they didn't change the time. Good luck to the family! Welcome home!
