LOS ANGELES (AP) -- "12 Years a Slave" has won the best picture Oscar at the 86th Academy Awards. But "Gravity" won the most awards, with seven.
Alfonso Cuaron won the best director Oscar for "'Gravity." Cate Blanchett won the best actress Oscar for "Blue Jasmine" and Matthew McConaughey won best actor for "Dallas Buyers Club."
First-time winners Lupita Nyong'o of "12 Years a Slave," and Jared Leto of "Dallas Buyers Club" took supporting acting honors.
Disney's fairytale musical "Frozen" won the Oscar for best animated feature. It was co-directed by Wichita native Christopher Buck. "Let It Go" from that movie was named best original song.
The Academy Awards aired live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. It was hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, who shut down Twitter for 20 minutes by assembling stars for a world record most retweeted "selfie." It was retweeted more than two million times during the live telecast.
