Police are trying to catch the person who broke into a South Wichita home on March 14th, 2008, making off with electronics and jewelry.

This crime stands out not only because of the items that were stolen, but because the victim's were home during the whole thing. They were asleep and did not wake up during this very daring break-in.

It happened in the 3900 block of South Lulu, near Macarthur and Hydraulic. A man left the house with his mother-in-law and daughter napping in a back bedroom. When he returned a few hours later, he discovered the back door open. Electronics, a laptop computer, and a safe were stolen.

The two females in the house were not harmed. They did not wake up during the burglary.

If you have any information as to who did this, call Crimestoppers at 267-2111. If your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Nobody will ask your name.

Crimestoppers of Wichita/Sedgwick County is a non-profit organization of citizens against crime.

My only comment is that, with the little information the news gave, it was an inside job.
