Ken Collier vanished in Hutchinson nearly 10 years ago. Investigators are hoping that revisiting the case brings forward the person who has the missing link to solving his homicide.

Collier was last seen at a bar called the Jack of Clubs in Hutchinson. Detective Sheldon Stewart says several patrons reported that he might have left with somebody. That was on December 16th, 1997.

Three months later, two boys playing in a field north of Hutchinson wandered across Collier's body. He had been shot to death.

"We recovered several pieces of evidence from the scene," says Stewart. "A pack of cigarettes, a cigarette lighter, and a cigarette butt off to the side of his body."

Stewart believes somebody lured Collier out into that field. He also believes Collier went there with somebody he trusted, because his body was found 300 yards off the roadway.

"There was a confrontation between him and the lady they called his girlfriend," says Stewart. "She wanted it ended, but he didn't."

In his mind, Stewart has a suspect, but he won't name the suspect publicly because there's no hard evidence linking that person to the murder.
