Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Deputies were notified Wednesday by animal control of a possible cock fighting ranch.

After investigating the claim, deputies discovered an area where an individual was raising birds and notified investigators.

Detectives found 93 caged birds, along with various items of paraphernalia related to cock fighting, were removed from the ranch. Detectives also seized veterinarian enhancing drugs.

Animal control has taken custody of the birds.

The case is still under investigation and will be presented to the district attorney’s office where charges may be filed.
