A three-day festival kicked off in downtown Wichita, featuring award-winning barbeque and music.
Ribbers from around the country are competing against each other in the Wichita Ribfest. The event runs through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is $4 person, children 12 and under get in free. Guests wearing a 2012 Riverfest button receive free admission. Admission will also be half-price from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Admission allows entrance into Wichita Ribfest, entertainment including a children’s play area with inflatables, caricatures and balloons. Ribs, barbecue and other food items and beverages are available for purchase. Some other activities will require an additional fee.
Wichita Ribfest guests can park at no charge in the INTRUST Bank Arena lots and City Lots B and C both Thursday and Friday. Usual charges will apply on Saturday. Buses will run their usual downtown routes during Ribfest.
