Kansas officials are honoring 16 farm families who have been operating on the same piece of land in the state for at least 150 years. It is all part of the celebration of the state turning 150 years old itself.

Gov. Sam Brownback and Secretary of Agriculture Dale Rodman are
holding the 150-year recognition Thursday afternoon at the Kansas
State Fair in Hutchinson.

The event begins at 2:30 p.m. in Dillon Hall at the Encampment Building on the fairgrounds.
