This year marks the 16th Annual Battle of the Badges Campaign where the Police Department will compete against the Fire Department to see who can get more people to donate blood for the American Red Cross.
During the holidays, the Red Cross is in greater need for blood donations as businesses, churches and schools hold fewer blood drives.
Blood donations can be made at 707 N. Main and usually take about an hour. Appointments can be made by calling 1 (800) RED-CROSS and can often speed up donation time.
The Battle of the Badges run from December 16th through January 1st.
